EuChemS Annual Meetings 2026 in Belgrade
The 2026 EuChemS Annual Meetings took place on 12–14 October in Belgrade, Serbia, hosted by the Serbian Chemical Society at the Palace of Science. The Executive Board, General Assembly and Professional Networks meetings brought together representatives of the European chemistry community to review achievements, discuss priorities and strengthen collaboration.

David Šestak received the 2026 EuChemS EUCYS Award
The 2026 EuChemS EUCYS Award for the best chemistry contribution at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) was awarded to David Šestak from Croatia for the project “The solvatochromic behavior of Brooker’s merocyanine in binary solvent mixtures”.
Banská Štiavnica honoured with EuChemS Historical Landmarks Award
A commemorative plaque was unveiled at the Samuel Mikovíni United School in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia, on 22 September 2026. The plaque marks the site’s recognition with a EuChemS Historical Landmarks Award, which celebrates places that have made an outstanding contribution to the history of chemistry in Europe.

J. Henrique Teles receives the EuChemS Industry Innovation Award 2025
EuChemS is pleased to announce that J. Henrique Teles, Senior R&D Manager at BASF SE, has been awarded the EuChemS Industry Innovation Award 2025 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to industrial chemistry, chemical process development and fundamental scientific research.
Nikolay Kornienko receives the 2025 EuChemS Lecture Award
Following the advice of the International Award Committee for the EuChemS Lecture Award, Nikolay Kornienko has received the 2025 EuChemS Lecture Award. The award recognises the major achievements of one junior scientist working in chemistry in a country represented by a EuChemS Member Organisation.
EuChemS Young Chemists’ Awards 2026 presented at ECC10
