The October 7 terrorist attacks led Israel to declare a state of war. Chemists from the European Chemical Society (EuChemS) strongly condemn the terrorist actions of Hamas and express solidarity with colleagues from the Israel Chemical Society, a member society of EuChemS, and with their families and friends.
We feel great sorrow for the Israeli people, but also for the Palestinian civilians, as Hamas’ attacks have caused and will cause indescribable suffering among both populations: terrorism offers no future prospects for anyone.
In these difficult times, we remain particularly committed to maintaining our close scientific and personal ties with the Israel Chemical Society, and we will use these ties to expand our support whenever possible.
