Dr. Alice Soldà is the new Chair of EYCN, the European Young Chemists’ Network.

Alice Soldà, PhD is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Bologna. She graduated in Physical Chemistry at University of Padova and she got her PhD in Bioelectrochemistry at University of Bologna working in collaboration with the European Institute of Oncology (IEO, Milan) under the supervision of Prof. Stefania Rapino and Prof. Francesco Paolucci. Her PhD project, partially supported by Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC), was mainly focused on the development of novel ultramicrosensors for investigation of single living cell metabolism and identification of cancer cells by Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM). She spent research periods @University of Warwick (Coventry, UK), @University of Connecticut (USA) and @Norwegian University of Science and Technology – NTNU (Norway). Her expertise includes SECM, basic electrochemistry, surface functionalization and modification for biosensor development, cell cultures, in vivo and ex tissues analysis, toxicological analysis, FACS analysis and Confocal Microscopy.

In her young carrier she actively partecipated in 14 national and international congresses, with either oral or poster contributions and she was awarded as best MSc Thesis (2011) and best PhD Thesis (2015) from the Electrochemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI). She is the current secretary of the Young Team of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) and board member of the Electrochemistry Division (SCI), as elected as young delegate. She is also member of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) and the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES).
