EuChemS Young Chemists’ Awards 2026 presented at ECC10

The 2026 EuChemS Young Chemists’ Awards (EYCA) were presented during the 10th EuChemS Chemistry Congress (ECC10), held in Antwerp, Belgium, on 12–16 July 2026.
The awards showcase and recognise outstanding research carried out by young scientists in the chemical sciences. The European Young Chemists’ Award Committee selected ten finalists – five in the PhD Student category and five in the Early Career Researcher category – from a total of 47 candidates. The finalists presented their research before a live jury and the ECC10 audience.
In the PhD Student category, the Gold Medal was awarded to Adrián J. Suñer Rubio, while Soumyadip Mondal received the Silver Medal.
In the Early Career Researcher category, Igor Beckers was awarded the Gold Medal. The Silver Medal was presented jointly to Ferran Esteve and Irene Regeni.
The other finalists were Noah Al-Shamery, Sebastian Gołojuch and Fatma Zohra Mihoubi in the PhD Student category, and Tommaso Giovannini and Charlie McTernan in the Early Career Researcher category.
