EuChemS Annual Meetings 2026 in Belgrade

Oct 20, 2026

The 2026 EuChemS Annual Meetings took place on 12–14 October in Belgrade, Serbia, hosted by the Serbian Chemical Society at the Palace of Science. The Executive Board, General Assembly and Professional Networks meetings brought together representatives of the European chemistry community to review achievements, discuss priorities and strengthen collaboration.

A highlight was the signing of two strategic agreements: one between EuChemS and Chemistry Europe, and the other between EuChemS and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Participants also received updates on preparations for the 11th EuChemS Chemistry Congress (ECC11), which will take place in Vienna in 2028. The Professional Networks meeting focused on joint initiatives, upcoming scientific events and the draft code of conduct.

This year’s General Assembly was the last chaired by Angela Agostiano as EuChemS President. Her presidential term concludes at the end of 2026, after which she will serve as Vice-President for two years. President-Elect Wolfram Koch and Secretary General Nineta Hrastelj thanked her for her leadership.

EuChemS warmly thanks the Serbian Chemical Society for hosting the meetings and all participants for their engagement.
