Brussels News Update - December 2020

Hello and welcome to the December edition of the Brussels News Updates, the monthly EuChemS newsletter keeping you up to date on the latest chemistry-related science-policy issues, news, awards, and upcoming events.

This month, we released a special edition of our newsletter Chemistry in Europe for the 50 years of EuChemS. We hope you enjoyed celebrating our 50th anniversary with us this year: even though we had to celebrate it remotely, 2020 will remain a milestone for EuChemS. Stay tuned for the next 50 years 😉!

The last few weeks have seen a number of important developments taking place at the EU level, particularly over the budget of Horizon Europe. In the meantime, the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) co-organised an online session at the 12th European Innovation Summit, the #EUvsVirus community continued its activities with active participation of EuChemS, and new measures for more sustainable batteries were passed by the European Commission.

And don’t forget: the calls for 4 EuChemS Awards are open until 31 December 2020!

On behalf of the editorial team of EuChemS Brussels News Updates, we would like to thank all our readers for their interest during this special year. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year 2021!
