After a three-day summit, the leaders of the G7 countries agreed on 13 June to back the \u201cNature Compact\u201d to halve carbon emissions by 2030 and reverse biodiversity loss. With the adoption of this compact, the G7 countries \u2013 Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States \u2013 recognise the need to transition from carbon energy to more sustainable solutions and to commit to taking global actions on climate change. The G7 governments will tackle deforestation and will strive for a greener supply chain. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As stated in the <\/span>G7 official communique<\/span><\/a>, developed countries will jointly raise their contributions $100 billion per year to reach this ambitious carbon neutrality goal and to support poorer countries. Furthermore, the G7 countries will work alongside other political leaders and stakeholders to enhance climate actions in the various upcoming summits (i.e., COP 26, UN Environment Assembly, etc.).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
