Chairman Roger Nordmann referred to this day as \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-57251681\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Black Wednesday<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d and the European Commission &#8220;regrets this decision, given the progress that has been made over the last years&#8221;.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As a consequence, Swiss researchers might not be eligible to apply for Horizon Europe projects as Switzerland faces potential exclusion from Horizon Europe.
