{"id":8905,"date":"2021-04-15T09:44:15","date_gmt":"2021-04-15T08:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=8905"},"modified":"2021-04-15T11:08:47","modified_gmt":"2021-04-15T10:08:47","slug":"chemicals-strategy-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/chemicals-strategy-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"The Council of the European Union endorses EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 15 March 2021, the Council of the European Union approved the conclusions on the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/environment\/strategy\/chemicals-strategy_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability<\/a>, adopted by the European Commission in October 2020 (read more about it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/eu-chemicals-strategy-for-sustainability-towards-a-safer-and-greener-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the previous issue of the EuChemS\u2019 Brussels News Updates (BNU)<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This strategy is part of the European Union\u2019s toxic free environment by 2050, as announced in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/strategy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Green Deal<\/a>. This new strategy for chemicals sets the long-term vision for the EU chemicals policy and aims to ban the most harmful chemicals in consumer products and to phase-out hazardous chemicals that affect vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In its conclusions, the Council supports the European Commission in implementing the actions laid down in the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability.
