This programme supports the development and implementation of open educational resources (OER). The projects of the OE4BW mentoring programme address topics in relation with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SDGs<\/a>). Mentees are enrolled worldwide for this purpose. In 2020, they benefited from the guidance of 84 mentors, who helped the mentees to find solutions and foster OER. Experts shared their views on how to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy. The programme of this session was the following:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Advancing sustainable energy and climate actions through open online learning;<\/li>\n<li>Statistical data supporting energy related education and decision-making;<\/li>\n<li>Importance of sustainable ecosystem for open education;<\/li>\n<li>Prosumers of the Energy Union;<\/li>\n<li>How to license Open Educational Resources;<\/li>\n<li>Energy sector skills needed for the 21<sup>st<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This session was preceded by an introductory panel during which OE4BW chairs welcomed the speakers and the participants. Then, the experts panel session was followed by pitch presentations of projects, developed in the SDG7 hub of the OE4BW 2019\/2020, and a discussion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The mentoring programme has been active since 2018 and was founded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ung.si\/en\/study\/school-of-engineering-and-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Nova Gorica<\/a> and the\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/unesco.ijs.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UNESCO Chair on Open Technologies for OER and Open Learning<\/a> at the Jo\u017eef Stefan Institute.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can watch the webinars held during OE4BW <a href=\"http:\/\/oe4bw.ijs.si\/webinars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>EuChemS is very active concerning the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) which were established in 2015. In 2017, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/policy-and-communication\/policy-workshops\/future-oriented-chemistry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Future-Oriented Chemistry&#8221;<\/a> side event was co-organised by EuChemS at the EU Pavilion of the United Nations Climate Change conference (COP23). In 2018, a workshop was organised on the topic of SDGs at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/looking-back-at-the-7th-euchems-chemistry-congress-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">7th EuChemS Chemistry Congress<\/a> in Liverpool. Finally, in 2019, EuChemS, together with the American Chemical Society (ACS), signed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/euchems-joins-world-chemical-societies-in-signing-joint-agreement-on-the-un-sustainable-development-goals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joint Framework Agreement<\/a> on the UN SDGs in Paris, France.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mentoring programme Open Education for a Better World (OE4BW) was held online from 29 June to 2 July 2020. &hellip;
