{"id":5922,"date":"2019-08-19T08:23:26","date_gmt":"2019-08-19T07:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=5922"},"modified":"2019-08-19T08:23:26","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T07:23:26","slug":"chemical-industry-is-on-the-path-to-define-the-european-way","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/chemical-industry-is-on-the-path-to-define-the-european-way\/","title":{"rendered":"Chemical Industry is on the path to define \u201cThe European Way\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Chemical Industry Council\u2019s (Cefic) President Daniele Ferrari stressed at the 100<sup>th<\/sup> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iupac2019.org\/centenary-celebration\">anniversary<\/a> of the International Union of \u00a0Pure and Applied chemistry (IUPAC) in Paris, that the EU chemical industry needs to define \u201cThe European way\u201d, notably the need to innovate towards circular models, leading on sustainability and being at the forefront of innovation in technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari described the megatrends which will affect the world economy in the next decades. With a population set to increase by one billion by 2030, demand for manufactured goods and energy consumption will only grow. As more than 95% of all manufactured goods are touched by chemistry in some way, our sector has a leading role in responding to this growth, explained Ferrari.
