{"id":5682,"date":"2019-05-15T11:01:17","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T10:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=5682"},"modified":"2019-05-15T11:01:17","modified_gmt":"2019-05-15T10:01:17","slug":"eu-and-my-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/eu-and-my-food\/","title":{"rendered":"EU and my Food"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the European elections quickly approach, the European Union\u2019s Food Safety Agency (EFSA) has launched a campaign to highlight the important role the EU plays in showing how ingredients, processes, packaging and labelling are assessed to ensure nutrition and health claims are backed by science. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efsa.europa.eu\/en\/eu-and-my-food#human-health\">EU and my Food website<\/a> for interesting articles on the different ways EFSA contributes to food safety (including the recent assessment of the safety of insects in our diet!).<\/p>\n<p>Food safety has also long been on EuChemS\u2019 radar. Working with the EuChemS Division of Food Chemistry, we have provided the European institutions with important feedback, notably on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/industrial-trans-fats-in-foods-setting-a-legal-limit-an-euchems-response\/\">setting of legal limits of industrial trans fats in foods<\/a>.
