{"id":5293,"date":"2019-01-15T16:24:09","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T15:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=5293"},"modified":"2019-01-16T10:24:34","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T09:24:34","slug":"international-year-of-the-periodic-table-iypt2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/international-year-of-the-periodic-table-iypt2019\/","title":{"rendered":"International Year of the Periodic Table &#8211; IYPT2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Proclaimed the International Year of the Periodic Table by the United Nations General Assembly and UNESCO, 2019 will be the 150<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of Dmitri Mendeleev\u2019s discovery of the Periodic Table (interestingly, several scientists in Europe developed Periodic Systems and systemisation attempts around the same time. You may recognise names such as Antoine Lavoisier, Alexandre-Emile Beguyer de Chancourtois, John Newlands and the familiar name of Julius Lothar Meyer).<\/p>\n<p>The IYPT2019 will be launched at an Opening Ceremony in Paris on 29 January 2019. Some of the speakers include Ben Feringa, Youri Oganessian and Sir Martyn Poliakoff.
