{"id":4213,"date":"2018-03-15T09:58:27","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T08:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=4213"},"modified":"2018-03-15T09:58:27","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T08:58:27","slug":"european-commission-publishes-second-reach-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/european-commission-publishes-second-reach-review\/","title":{"rendered":"European Commission publishes second REACH review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 5 March, the European Commission (EC) published the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/docsroom\/documents\/28201\">second review<\/a> of the European Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) along with a comprehensive <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/docsroom\/documents\/28202\">evaluation report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The EC has ultimately concluded that REACH is effective in addressing citizen concerns about chemical safety &#8211; although opportunities for improvement, simplification and burden reduction are there for the taking. The EC moreover suggests implementing changes in line with the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Environment Action Programme, the Circular Economy Action Plan, and the renewed EU Industrial Policy Strategy.
