{"id":3556,"date":"2017-11-17T11:11:10","date_gmt":"2017-11-17T10:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=3556"},"modified":"2017-11-17T11:11:10","modified_gmt":"2017-11-17T10:11:10","slug":"songrui-zhao-eucys-euchems-award-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/songrui-zhao-eucys-euchems-award-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Songrui Zhao \u2013 EUCYS EuCheMS Award 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Songrui Zhao from China is the winner of the 2017 European Union Contest for Young Scientists (<a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/research\/eucys\/index_en.cfm\">EUCYS<\/a>) EuCheMS Award with her project entitled <em>A Research on Synthesis, Characterization and CO<sub>2<\/sub> Absorptive Character of Pyridinium-based Ionic Liquids<\/em>. Songrui Zhao synthesized three kinds of pyridium-based ionic liquids as new solvents for CO<sub>2<\/sub> capture. Their physical properties and CO<sub>2<\/sub> absorbing abilities were measured, calculated and analyzed. The cycling abilities and absorbing principle of these liquids were also discussed. The results show that the three kinds of ionic liquids can absorb CO<sub>2<\/sub> efficiently and can be recycled completely. The new liquids can be used in industrial CO<sub>2<\/sub> capture process.<\/p>\n<p>EuCheMS special prize for best chemistry contribution at the European Union Contest for Young Scientist, is attributed every year at EUCYS to a young scientist for hers\/his research work in the field of chemistry.
