The <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/environment\/waste\/batteries\/evaluation.htm\">evaluation<\/a> is the first step of a review process, in which the Commission assesses whether this Directive meets its objectives and contributes to the general objectives of the EU environmental policy. Preliminary research results have served as a basis for understanding the various issues at hand as well as for identifying areas where data gaps in aspects under evaluation still remain. This consultation offers any interested individual, group or company an opportunity to give their opinion and provide information.
