{"id":15725,"date":"2022-07-15T14:43:53","date_gmt":"2022-07-15T13:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/?p=15725"},"modified":"2022-07-18T08:31:57","modified_gmt":"2022-07-18T07:31:57","slug":"2022-srip-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/newsletters\/2022-srip-report\/","title":{"rendered":"\ufeff\ufeff2022 Science, Research and Innovation Performance report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\">The 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/sites\/default\/files\/srip\/2022\/ec_rtd_srip-2022-report-full.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science, Research and Innovation Performance (SRIP) report<\/a> was released by the European Commission\u2019s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation on 5 July. The SRIP releases every 2 years <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/research-and-innovation\/strategy\/support-policy-making\/support-national-research-and-innovation-policy-making\/srip-report_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to analyse key R&amp;D drivers, and the EU\u2019s performance in topics related to innovation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The 2022 edition of the report has been largely influenced by the major global events of the recent years \u2013 the Coronavirus pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In face of such crises, a key message of the report is putting emphasis on Europe\u2019s resilience and preparedness for unexpected challenges. To ensure such resilience, the report highlights certain key policy areas to focus on. It also shows that, while the EU holds onto its strong position in R&amp;D, major trading partners are closing the gap, as their innovation performance is improving faster than the EU\u2019s. This may have economic and political implications; hence the report calls for improvements of the EU business infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">On 12 July, a <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/events\/launch-srip-report-2022-jul-12_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual launch event<\/a> was held for the report, where Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General for Research &amp; Innovation addressed the audience, followed by the introduction of the report\u2019s key findings and a panel discussion of experts on research innovation and economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2022 Science, Research and Innovation Performance (SRIP) report was released by the European Commission\u2019s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation &hellip; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":101,"featured_media":15719,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[141,9,5],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.6 -
