your calendar for the upcoming EuChemS activities in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Celebrating (a part of) the History of Chemistry in Almad\u00e9n, Spain<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 14 &#8211; 15 September, the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (<a href=\"https:\/\/rseq.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RSEQ<\/a>) is organising the ceremony for the unveiling of the EuChemS Historical Landmark plaque for the Almad\u00e9n mines, which has been awarded at the European level for its 2019 edition <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euchems.eu\/awards\/euchems-historical-landmarks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EuChemS Historical Landmarks Award<\/a> (European level) in recognition of the role it played in the history of chemistry and the European sense of belonging between people and ideas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This ceremony will be preceded by a symposium on the history of the mines and the mercury element \u2013 the greatest volume of mercury production in history has been achieved in these mines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can read more about the
