On 18 and 19 June, the EuChemS Executive Board met in the picturesque town of Bern, Switzerland. Between brown bear spotting and r\u00f6sti indulging, the Board discussed many important topics \u2013 from activities for the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT2019) to the upcoming online course on ethics and chemistry, from the new EuChemS logo to be unveiled at the 7<sup>th<\/sup> EuChemS Chemistry Congress to our recent policy activities. EuChemS also attended this year\u2019s Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse where science, policy and communications were at the forefront of discussions.
