Brussels News Update - September 2018

Hello and welcome to the September edition of Brussels News Updates – your monthly overview of Chemistry in Europe, our activities, Chemistry events across Europe and more!

This August, the Chemistry community made its way to the lively city of Liverpool, UK, for our 7th EuChemS Chemistry Congress! Surrounded by beautiful brick-built docks, Beatles tunes and traditional scouse, a line-up of outstanding speakers presented their latest research, students displayed their exceptional posters, and participants discussed, debated and networked throughout the busy week. The Congress in turn witnessed many novelties and important events: the launching of our new name, acronym, and logo; a series of awards, including the first European Chemistry Gold Medal, awarded to Professor Ben Feringa; the publishing of the EuChemS Position Paper on Horizon Europe; as well as the sight of thousands of chemists rock ‘n’ rolling to Twist and Shout…
