Brussels News Update - June 2021

Hey, welcome to the Brussels News Updates (BNU), EuChemS’ newsletter for policy makers, chemists, entrepreneurs and citizens who have an interest in chemistry. The BNU newsletter keeps you up to date on the latest chemistry-related and science-policy news, awards, consultations, and upcoming events in Europe and beyond.

This month, EuChemS is pleased to invite you to the webinar of the 2019 EuChemS Lecture Awardee that will be held online on Wednesday 23 June (15:00 CEST). David Portehault, EuChemS 2019 Lecturer, will give a talk on “From water to molten salts: geoinspired syntheses and reactivity of nanomaterials”.

At the policy level, Slovenia is about to take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, ECHA released its five-year report on REACH/CLF and the ENVI Committee discussed a new strategy to reduce methane emissions. Although the 9th EU framework programme for Research and Innovation was just launched, debates around Horizon Europe are still ongoing.

Is there anything that you would like to read about in the next issue of the BNU? Let us know!
