Food Chemistry Division congratulates Professor Hans Steinhart

Professor Hans Steinhart, the President of Eurofoodchem XIII, held in Hamburg from 21-23 September 2005, has recently been doubly honoured. He is the recipient of the Joseph-König-Medal awarded by the Vice-President Prof. Dr. Petra Mischnick of the German Chemical Society for outstanding activities in the area of food chemistry, and also of the Hans-Dieter Belitz Medal of the “Research Association of the German Food Industry” for his transfer of scientific results to the industry sector. Professor Steinhart has been a longstanding national representative on the Food Chemistry Division and is also very active in supporting young researchers and students. The Division congratulates Professor Steinhart on these well-deserved awards.
